Mom’s Survival Guide – Tips on how to create your Little Chef video

Mom’s Survival Guide – Tips on how to create your Little Chef video

Are you worried that you don’t have the skills to make a great video for our Little Chef contest? Don’t let those worries hold you back!

Top 3 tips from Little Chef Naia’s Mom

1. Cook together as a family

If you don’t already, get the kids involved in the kitchen. From recipe selection to washing and slices veggies (with supervision, of course), there are lots of ways to get your kids cooking. This will help them be more confident for their entry video and give them skills that they can use for a lifetime of healthy eating.

2. Experiment with your spuds

Help your child find which variety best suits their tastes and the recipe they’ve chosen. A basic Baby Boomer yellow? Colourful Terrific Trios? Roasted Blushing Belles? There are many options for great plate appeal.

3. Points for personality

If your child is lacking confidence in the kitchen but has a big personality, let that show! A straightforward recipe that is beautifully plated is a great pairing to an outgoing future Little Chef.

To enter the casting call, please visit Marilyn.ca and submit a video of your little chef cooking an original recipe that includes small potatoes. The contest is open to all Canadian children aged 8-13.

The deadline for video submissions is Sunday, October 16, 2016, at 11:59 pm ET.
